Job Description

At GemPool, we are currently working with a company seeking a talented Cloud Engineer to join their product team. This team is responsible for advancing a product platform with a continuous influx of digital features, enhancing digital channel capabilities, and ensuring high visibility and impact within the company. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be instrumental in creating scalable, reliable software systems, establishing CI/CD pipelines, and driving cloud adoption. This role involves close collaboration with the Developers Team and other Product Cloud Engineers across the organization, promoting the best practices in SRE and cloud technologies.

Contract (Daily Rate negotiable)
Hybrid (1 day a week in the office required).
The ideal candidate for this role must be fluent in both English and Spanish.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Execute cloud best practices and Well Architected Framework guidelines, ensuring continuous improvement in cloud adoption.
  • Empower the Developers Team with cloud knowledge, facilitating their maturity in the product model.
  • Design and implement observability tools and alerts (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk), and enhance application event logging and technical logs.
  • Identify and communicate potential security issues to the Solutions Architect, providing constructive feedback.
  • Define, implement, and evolve CI/CD pipelines, reviewing and executing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Support the team in implementing scalable, high-performance solutions, and applying stability patterns (e.g., service mesh, rollback strategies).

Skills Required:
  • Strong understanding and experience using AWS as a cloud provider.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with Cloud Engineers, Solutions Architects, and the broader engineering team.
  • Proficiency in observability practices, including designing and implementing monitoring tools and alerts.
  • In-depth understanding of security best practices and the ability to identify and address potential issues.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipeline definition and implementation, along with experience in IaC.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, relational and NoSQL databases, application performance analysis, load testing, and modern development practices like TDD, DDD, and OOP.
