Job Title         Team Lead - IT Hardware

 

Reports to         Manufacturing Manager

 

Working Hours/Shift      39 hours per week.

08.00-16.30, Monday to Thursday; 7 hours, 8.00 - 15.30 on Friday.

Lunch break during this time is 30 minutes.

 

Summary

Our Client (Electronic Manufacturing Services) based in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 are currently recruiting for a Team Lead to join our Testing team. The It hardware Team Leader will be responsible for managing a team of 11-15 test technicians who work across 2 shifts. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities across both shifts in line with business objectives to ensure we minimize the debug volumes. This is a supervisory role so previous people management experience is essential.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures productivity standards meet or exceed workmanship standards and tracks the failed products closely in order to meet turn-around times.
  • Manages shift changeover to ensure pass down is well communicated between shifts.
  • Minimizes excess material on floor; ensure proper stockage and availability of operation supplies and the full functioning of testing or any other debugging equipment in the area. (Includes MRO and Standard Materials).
  • Verifies that only accurate, current, and authorized documentation is available on the line.
  • Informs or instructs employees of any deviations or changes.
  • Notifies manager/HR immediately regarding all employee problems, concerns, and recommendations.
  • Strives for continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
  • Works closely with Test Engineering team to ensure debug personnel are thoroughly trained, certified and are performing their assigned functions.
  • Motivates and challenges all team members to perform to their full potential through direct and timely formal and informal feedback.
  • Tracks Debug WIP and ensures all deadlines and schedules are met.
  • Reviews all relevant policies and procedures issued to the line and ensures that appropriate employees read, understand, and adhere to them.
  • Manages time and attendance system for all direct reports (TMS) for payroll purposes.
  • Understand priorities communicated from the Planning team and ensures they are being worked and any issues fed back in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for shift handover communication and allocate work to team as appropriate.
  • Ensures productivity standards meet or exceed workmanship standards and tracks the failed products closely to meet turn-around times.
  • Informs or instructs employees of any deviations or changes.
  • Notifies Area Supervisor immediately regarding all employee problems, concerns, and recommendations.
  • Strives for continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
 

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma/certification/degree in Electronics with minimum 2+ years industry experience in preferably in the electronic manufacturing industry; May substitute relevant experience in lieu of educational requirement.
  • Minimum 1-2 years people management / supervisory experience essential. 3 to 5 years people management /supervisory experience advantageous.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
  • Strong planning & organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • A “can do” work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email management systems, online chat and ability to learn in-house systems quickly.
