GemPool, Ireland’s leading IT recruitment agency, is partnering with a growing industrial automation company to hire a Project Engineer in Dublin, Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team delivering cutting-edge automation solutions across a variety of industries and geographies in Europe.
The Role We’re seeking a Project Engineer with strong industrial automation experience to work across the full automation lifecycle. You’ll be contributing to design, implementation, and commissioning of automation systems while collaborating closely with project teams to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions.
Responsibilities:
Software Design & Development: Design and develop control system software for PLCs, DCS, SCADA, MES, and historian platforms; maintain detailed system documentation
Hardware Design & Testing: Design electrical control panels and oversee testing to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
Project Execution & Validation: Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing, lead on-site commissioning, and perform Site Acceptance Testing to confirm system functionality in live environments
Collaborate with project teams and project managers to deliver projects on time and to specification
What We’re Looking For
5+ years’ experience in industrial automation and control systems
Hands-on experience with PLC/DCS programming and SCADA configuration
Familiarity with validation protocols and quality standards in regulated industries
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Automation, or related field)
Experience with Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Ignition, or FactoryTalk is preferred
Open to travel across Europe
Location: Dublin, Ireland-based; must be eligible to work and travel in Ireland and Europe without sponsorship.
