Job Title: Data Centre Technician (Not Live – Building Candidate Pipeline)
Type: Contract – 3–6 Months
Locations: West, South, and North Dublin
Salary: €32,000 per annum

About the Role
We at Gempool are looking for a skilled Data Centre Technician to join our client’s team around Dublin on a 3–6 month contract. This role involves supporting mission-critical infrastructure, maintaining hardware, and ensuring smooth data centre operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities 

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, network devices, and storage solutions.
• Diagnose and repair hardware issues (servers, racks, cabling, power units).
• Perform routine system health checks and escalate issues when necessary.
• Manage infrastructure cabling, including fiber optics and copper connections.
• Maintain asset tracking and inventory records.
• Support data centre deployments and work closely with engineers and operations teams.
• Adhere to safety, security, and compliance protocols within the data centre environment.

Skills & Experience Required

• Hands-on experience with IT hardware (servers, storage, and networking equipment).
• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing hardware and connectivity issues. 
• Knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power distribution and cooling systems.
• Experience with cable management (structured cabling, fiber optics, and patch panels).
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems is a plus.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting equipment, working in confined spaces).
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and on-call rotations. 
• CompTIA A+ or similar certification is a plus.

Schedule
8 Hour shift - Monday- Friday
