Hiring: Data Centre Technical Operations Engineer (3-Month Contract, Dublin)
Location: South Dublin
Contract: 3 months

We are seeking a Data Centre Technical Operations Engineer (Facilities) to join our client on a 3-month contract in Dublin. This role is ideal for someone with strong engineering operations experience who thrives in a high-performing, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure all maintenance and operations follow established procedures and standards.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, analyse operations, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to manage projects, capacity, safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Operate and manage both routine and emergency services on critical systems: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC units, BMS, etc.
  • Contribute to new facility build-outs and efficiency improvement projects.
  • Manage assets and inventory.
  • Support recruiting efforts and deliver exceptional service to meet customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree in a relevant field.
  • Relevant work experience in facilities/critical infrastructure.
  • Proven management and leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in complex, fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Data Centre Engineering & Operations.
  • Background in Data Centre Management.
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of network design and low-voltage (copper/fibre) cabling.
