Job Description
Hiring: Data Centre Technical Operations Engineer (3-Month Contract, Dublin) Location: South Dublin Contract: 3 months
We are seeking a Data Centre Technical Operations Engineer (Facilities) to join our client on a 3-month contract in Dublin. This role is ideal for someone with strong engineering operations experience who thrives in a high-performing, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Ensure all maintenance and operations follow established procedures and standards.
Establish performance benchmarks, analyse operations, and prepare detailed reports.
Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to manage projects, capacity, safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Operate and manage both routine and emergency services on critical systems: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC units, BMS, etc.
Contribute to new facility build-outs and efficiency improvement projects.
Manage assets and inventory.
Support recruiting efforts and deliver exceptional service to meet customer requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree in a relevant field.
Relevant work experience in facilities/critical infrastructure.
Proven management and leadership experience.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize effectively in complex, fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Data Centre Engineering & Operations.
Background in Data Centre Management.
Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Knowledge of network design and low-voltage (copper/fibre) cabling.
