About the Role
GemPool is partnering with a leading organisation in the mission-critical infrastructure sector to hire an experienced Commissioning Manager. This role will focus on the delivery of commissioning activities on cutting-edge data centre projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely execution across all commissioning levels.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commissioning Levels 1–3, including on-site testing, vendor attendance coordination, load bank arrangements, and associated planning.
Review Level 2 and Level 3 documentation to ensure compliance with Cx and construction requirements for data centres.
Conduct site walks and ensure testing is carried out in accordance with the employer’s requirements.
Support the commissioning agent in managing Levels 4 and 5 testing, executed by the general contractor.
Oversee the CxDE (Commissioning Digital Environment) platform to track and monitor tagging, create checklists, and manage other commissioning tasks.
Ensure all testing is completed on schedule and in line with approved procedures.
Establish and lead daily and weekly coordination meetings to meet contractual and operational needs.
Compile, upload, and verify all testing and commissioning documentation, ensuring accurate recordkeeping in designated platforms.
Issue Method of Procedures (MOPs) promptly, particularly for live buildings.
Confirm that all required test equipment (load banks, data loggers, PQMs, etc.) is available and operational on time.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and third-party commissioning teams.
Monitor construction activities in collaboration with Mechanical, Electrical, and CSA disciplines.
Manage project Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Control of Hazardous Energy (COHE) processes and procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in commissioning management within data centre or other mission-critical environments.
Strong understanding of commissioning documentation, processes, and compliance requirements.
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficient in managing commissioning tracking systems and digital platforms.
Familiarity with LOTO/COHE safety processes.
