Job Title: Networking Cabling Technician
Contract Length: 3/4 Months
Location: Dublin

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Networking Cabling Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network cabling infrastructure. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of networking principles and be proficient in implementing structured cabling solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Cabling Installation:Install, terminate, and test network cabling, including copper and fibre optics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in cabling infrastructure.
  • Network Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on existing cabling systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to network cabling and infrastructure.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network cabling layouts, configurations, and changes.
  • Create as-built documentation for completed cabling projects.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers and other IT professionals to implement and support networking solutions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand and meet specific cabling requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and validation of installed cabling systems to ensure compliance with performance standards.
  • Implement quality control measures to guarantee the reliability and integrity of the network infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

  • IT Networking related degree
  • Relevant certifications in cabling or networking (e.g., BICSI RCDD, CompTIA Network+).


Required Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Networking Cabling Technician or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation and maintenance of network cabling systems.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in the installation and termination of copper and fibre optic cabling.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for structured cabling.
Communication Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Problem-Solving:
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues.
  • Capacity to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials associated with cabling installations.
  • Comfort working in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
