Job Description

GemPool is an award-winning Software Development recruitment agency. Our client is looking to hire multiple Senior Software Engineers with strong Ruby on Rails experience to work on a web-based application. You will join a small development team (5 members) using Agile methodologies, working on a business-critical application.

Role: Permanent Full Time
Location: Remote within Ireland

This position is only applicable to candidates living in Ireland.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years’ experience in web development using Ruby on Rails
• Experience working and supporting a large-scale production application
• Strong REST API and integrations experience
• Experience with relational databases + SQL
• Experience working in an Agile environment and with continuous deployment methodologies
• Very strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Degree in Computer Science or similar
• Some experience with Docker & Terraform

Nice to Have:

• Postgres experience
• Practical AI experience
• End-to-end web development
• UI development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Vuejs)
• Track record in the design and build of web apps through to delivery and implementation
• Experience using Git
• Experience working on business-critical applications
• Actively contributing to an open source project
