Job Description
GemPool Recruitment is currently hiring a Python Developer for an initial 6 month contract with a growing technology project in the financial services sector.
Our client is an Irish technology consultancy that provides strategic technology advice and technical expertise to businesses, helping them make better use of technology and deliver their technology strategy.
This is a fully remote opportunity for someone based in Ireland who enjoys backend development, API integrations and working with modern cloud and AI development tools.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Build, upgrade and maintain backend APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Modernise existing API endpoints and services
• Migrate legacy application logic from PHP into Python
• Integrate APIs across multiple enterprise systems
• Work with Azure cloud environments
• Use Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• Maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub and GitHub Actions
• Work with data sharing and secure integration requirements
• Use modern AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor as part of the development workflow
• Collaborate with technical consultants, architects and business stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
• 3 to 5 years of commercial Python development experience
• Strong backend and API development experience
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask or Django
• Hands on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Experience using Terraform
• Strong Git and GitHub knowledge
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Comfortable using AI assisted development tools
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Must be based and tax resident in Ireland
