Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre Projects
Type: FTE | Salary: €65,000 – €75,000 | Location: Blessington, Wicklow
GemPool Recruitment, on behalf of our client in the data centre industry, is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the delivery of practical noise reduction solutions within data centre construction and infrastructure projects.This role offers the opportunity to manage projects end-to-end in a supportive, collaborative environment within a growing data centre organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the delivery of noise reduction solutions for mid-sized data centre projects.
- Monitor project scope, schedules, budgets, and quality standards to ensure timely and efficient completion.
- Act as a point of contact between clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams.
- Support procurement activities, vendor coordination, and contract administration.
- Provide project updates and performance reports to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify risks and assist in developing mitigation plans.
- Contribute to process improvements and practical project delivery innovations.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years’ experience managing industrial or data centre projects.
- Technical knowledge of data centre infrastructure (mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, electrical systems).
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and basic methodologies.
- Understanding of construction contracts.
- Degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline (preferred).
Desirable Skills:
- Experience on data centre projects (hyperscale or colocation experience is a plus, not essential).
- Awareness of sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
