About the Role
Our client is seeking a mid-level to senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their electrical engineering team, supporting large-scale design engineering activities across the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and stakeholders across design, construction, and sustainability to support the delivery of new-build data centres.
You will contribute to multi-million-euro electrical system designs that support a wide range of critical business and customer needs. Innovation is encouraged, and the role rewards engineers who bring creative solutions that improve quality, speed, and cost efficiency. If you can design robust electrical systems, understand the equipment required for mission-critical environments, and appreciate the constructability of complex designs, this role may be an excellent fit.
This position is fully onsite, supporting multiple construction projects across the Zaragoza region, with a fixed 5-day-per-week schedule. Office space, tools, and computational resources will be fully provided.

What You’ll Do

  • Support general electrical design activities for critical infrastructure within new-build data centres across EMEA
  • Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
  • Review and approve equipment submittals
  • Manage external design consultancy firms through concept, design review, and release stages
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand user and operations requirements
  • Troubleshoot design issues, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement Corrective Actions (CA)
  • Define project scopes and provide support through construction phases
  • Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify suitable electrical equipment
  • Travel for site reviews, engineering evaluations, audits, and site launch support
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing and adopt client-specific engineering standards
  • Bring creative, practical, and innovative engineering solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience researching new electrical designs, technologies, and construction methods for data centre or critical facilities
  • Commissioning experience
  • Knowledge of regional building codes and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) Licence or equivalent chartered status
  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering within mission-critical facilities, such as data centres, power generation, oil & gas, or similar environments
  • Experience in contractor negotiation and management through design, construction, and project execution
  • Experience with fast-track design/build projects or large-scale upgrade programs
  • Ability to take design concepts from early exploration through development and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience reading, creating, and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documentation

A Day in the Life
You’ll operate as a technical problem-solver, making design decisions that influence complex infrastructure supporting millions of end users. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, turning technical requirements into high-performance electrical systems. Tasks may include conceptual design development, site assessments, and driving technical solutions that shape the next generation of data centre infrastructure.
