Project Engineer – Industrial Automation

About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join an industrial automation team in Dublin. The role involves delivering automation projects from design and development through to testing, commissioning, and validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC, DCS, SCADA, MES, and historian systems.
• Develop technical and project documentation.
• Support electrical control panel design and testing.
• Conduct FAT, SAT, commissioning, and site start-up activities.
• Troubleshoot automation and control systems.
• Work closely with project managers, customers, and engineering teams.
• Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and industry standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
• Level 8 degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
• Strong PLC/DCS programming and SCADA experience.
• Experience with commissioning, FAT and SAT.
• Knowledge of validation and regulated environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Ignition, or FactoryTalk is desirable.
• Willingness and ability to travel across Ireland and Europe.
• Eligible to work in Ireland and Europe without sponsorship.
