Support Engineer III – OpsTech Command Center (OCC)
Location: Dublin 4, Ireland
Contract: 6 months
Salary: 60k to 65k DOE
We’re seeking a Support Engineer III to join the OpsTech Solutions Command Center (OCC) team. This role suits a technically skilled professional who excels in incident management, problem solving, and driving operational improvements across global systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage high-severity incident response calls, ensuring timely triage and resolution for global technical issues.
- Direct and coordinate engineering teams during critical events to restore service quickly and efficiently.
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement preventive actions to reduce future risks.
- Serve as an escalation point and liaison between Field Operations and Field IT.
- Identify and execute process improvements that enhance operational reliability and efficiency.
- Communicate clearly and effectively across technical and non-technical teams at all management levels.
- Collaborate with global support and software engineering teams to maintain system health and availability.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of Global Incident Management experience.
- 2+ years of Problem Management experience.
- 3+ years in a network-focused technical role, working with IP routing protocols in large-scale data center or WAN environments.
- Experience supporting Field IT and Operations teams in incident resolution and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and workflow integration.
- Technical expertise in one or more of the following:
- Networking
- Linux or Microsoft system administration
- Cisco network configuration and management
- Some scripting experience or willingness to learn (Python, Perl, or Shell).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving, global environment.
- Experience in virtualized enterprise networking.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years in Global Incident and Problem Management roles.
- 5+ years in network operations within large-scale data centers or WAN environments.
- Strong ownership of IT infrastructure and deep understanding of root cause analysis.
- Proven experience with high-severity triage, escalation, and issue management.
- Thorough understanding of networking and security technologies, including:
- TCP/IP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Load Balancing, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, NFS
- Experience with major vendor platforms (Cisco, Juniper).
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, or Shell).
- Excellent analytical ability, technical acumen, and project management capability.
