We are currently hiring a Senior Java Developer for one of our clients in the public sector.
Role Info:
- Contract
- 12 Months (Possibility of an extension for a further 12 months)
- 2 days on-site
- Location – Dublin City Centre
- Must be an EU Citizen/Stamp 4 holder
- Daily Rate – Negotiable (DOE)
The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer with 7+ years’ experience to lead and contribute to the delivery of high-quality software solutions across multiple projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Agile, microservices architecture, and modern Java frameworks, with proven leadership in driving technical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage development teams, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
- Design and optimise system architecture within SOA and microservices environments
- Refactor legacy frameworks and integrate modern technologies
- Drive the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment
- Ensure secure, scalable API development and integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions
- Act as a subject matter expert on reusable application interfaces and services
Requirements
- 7+ years in Java development, including leadership roles
- Advanced proficiency in Java (Enterprise), Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Quarkus
- Strong understanding of Microservices and RESTful API design
- Experience with OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect, Kubernetes, WebLogic, API Managers
- Skilled in testing frameworks (JUnit, Cucumber) and TDD
- Strong database experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Developer
- Familiarity with UX/UI (HTML, CSS/SCSS, TypeScript), Angular, NodeJS a plus
- Exposure to Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat PAM, Red Hat SSO desirable
- Public sector experience preferred
