<li>Working with engineering team in identifying and fixing bottlenecks in infrastructure and provide input into systems architecture, anticipating the future needs of the company.</li>
<li>Administration of a scalable cloud-based infrastructure in multiple availability zones and regions for full global mission critical deployment of services.</li>
<li>Implementation of solutions to facilitate a reliable, repeatable, iterative release and deployment process.</li>
<li>Implement systems for monitoring and alerting re. overall performance and health of system, and work with the engineering team to address degradations.</li>
<li>Provision systems to detect and manage malicious activities including intrusion, DDoS and other attacks.</li>
<li>Evaluation, management and integration of 3rd party services. Work with service providers to ensure quality of services delivered.</li>
<li>You will have good communication skills and will be responsible for communicating and championing best practise within the engineering team with passion and diplomacy.</li>

<p><b>Requirements</b></p>

<li>5+ years industry experience with a number of years in a similar position</li>
<li>In depth Experience with Linux administration.</li>
<li>Experience with automated system configuration e.g. Puppet.</li>
<li>Experience supporting web applications, including Java, LAMP and RoR stacks.</li>
<li>Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Rackspace, etc.).</li>
<li>Experience working with relational and non-relational database and key-value store systems. This would ideally include prior experience of administration of OLAP solutions. </li>
<li>Knowledge of Java, Python, Ruby, Javascript and BASH/scripting would be a plus. </li>

<li>Oversees the technical design and technical implementation, guides and supports the engineering staff during the project.</li>
<li>Ultimately responsible for the technical delivery of the solution from requirement definition to the deployment in production.</li>
<li>Implements complex solution configurations and customizations</li>

<p><b>EDUCATION AND SKILLS <br />  Essential: </b></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelors’ degree or equivalent qualification.</li>
<li>5 to 10 years experience working with multiple Unix environments &#8211; RedHat Linux, Solaris and HP-UX.</li>
<li>Strong leadership and drive.</li>
<li>Proven record of requirements gathering, design, development and integration of complex telecommunication projects to multiple customers.</li>
<li>Customer facing and customer management experience</li>
<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills</li>
<li>Deep understanding of telecom billing/real-time systems.</li>
<li>Project Development Lifecycle including design and development methodologies</li>
<li>Skilled with Relational Databases, preferably Oracle.</li>
<li>Development or scripting experience in the last 3 years – Java, C++, Scripting, XML</li>
<li>Experience working on multi-threaded applications.</li>

<p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, architecture and core technologies (ICMP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, HTTP etc.)<br />• Several years’ in-depth experience with performance analysis, systems software, and systems architecture<br />• High level of proficiency in scripting/programming with Perl or Python<br />• Ability to operate in high pressure environment and troubleshoot complex issues quickly successfully handle multiple priorities<br />• In depth knowledge &amp; experience working in a Linux or Unix environment<br />• Excellent communication, prioritization and analytical skills<br />• Knowledge of system performance methodologies along with hands on empirical monitoring data driven decision making<br />• Experience deploying or managing large scale distributed Linux environments<br />• Strong desire to build; sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.</p>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>• Experience with a large scale network monitoring framework.<br />• Experience in deploying, customising and scaling a network monitoring solution.<br />• Skilled in packet analysis and network analysis tools, troubleshooting and analytical fault diagnosis.</p>
